Анотація | Abstract
The article considers the possibility of introducing a special information operation into the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine that regulates it, raises the expediency of improving the normative and legal support of the Security Service of Ukraine activities, provides examples of domestic and foreign experience in the implementation of a special information operation in the activities of law enforcement agencies, special services etc. and its normalization.
In particular, the author analyzes in detail the prescriptions of the domestic legislation, according to which the priority measures, both in the fight against terrorism and in protection of the national interests of Ukraine in general, are preventive measures. At the same time, the article states that the legislator pays considerable attention to the information component in the activities of state bodies, emphasizes the need for information and public awareness work, forming public opinion, conducting information operations, etc. The article focuses on changes in US law governing the use of information and communication technologies in the practice of law enforcement agencies, special services, and other state bodies of this country. Along with this author, it is justifiably noted that, despite the changes that have occurred in the legal regulation of such activities of the intelligence agencies of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, etc., the legal support of the Security Service of Ukraine for the introduction of special information operations in its activity needs improvement.
